Nurofen Gel

Nurofen Gel is used to treat pain and inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints.

Active Ingredient

The gel contains Ibuprofen 5% as the active ingredient.  Please see product packaging for a full list of other ingredients.  Pack size is 30g.

Who can use Nurofen Gel?

Nurofen Gel can be used by adults and children aged 12 years and older.

Dose

Apply between 4cm and 10mc of gel to the affected area and massage gently until absorbed.  Repeat as necessary up to three times daily, leaving at least 4 hours between applications.

Side Effects and Cautions

Reported side effects include tummy upset and irritation at application site..  Please see product literature for a full list of possible side effects.  Do not use Nurofen Gel if you are allergic to any ingredients.  Avoid contact with the eyes, lips or mucous membranes and take care not to apply to skin that is broken or inflamed.  This medicine is for external use only and should not be taken.

Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

Do not use this medicine if you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.  If you are in the first or second trimesters you should contact your GP or hospital doctor before use.  Nurofen Gel is unlikely to affect breast fed infants.

How to Store Nurofen Gel

Store Nurofen Gel below 25ºC and remember to keep all medicine out of sight and reach of children. You should return any unused or date expired medicines to your pharmacist for safe destruction.
