Viagra Connect® is now available to purchase in Ireland without a prescription.  It is available for men aged 18 years and over who suffer from erectile dysfunction.  There are two pack sizes available containing 4 and 8 tablets, each containing 50mg of sildenafil.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction, or impotence, is the inability to get or maintain an erection that is firm enough to have sex.

How does Viagra Connect® work?

Viagra Connect® works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis.  This allows more blood to flow into the penis following arousal.  This leads to an erection.  We recommend that you take the tablet about an hour before sex.  It will stay active in your body for about 4 hours.  The most common side effect is headache.  When taking Viagra Connect® for the first time please note that full effect may not be seen for the first few doses.

Viagra Connect® is supplied following a consultation with one of our pharmacists.  Our pharmacist will discuss any health conditions you may have, as well as any other medicines you may be taking, before deciding if the medicine is safe and appropriate for you to take.  We will also recommend that you arrange a check-up with your GP within 6 months as erectile dysfunction can often be an indicator of other health problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and high cholesterol.  As always, our pharmacists will be more than happy to provide any other health advice you need.  You can book an in store consultation with one of our pharmacists at a time that suits you.
